Description

A course focusing on sport institutions as social organizations and how they function within a culture. Emphasis is placed on group structure and membership, group pressure, socialization, stratification, and deviance as they apply to the sportsā” setting. Selected interdisciplinary topics demonstrating the connections between sport and: media, business/economy, gender, race/ethnicity, social class, politics, and religion. SS/ES
