Description

An introduction to philosophy as an activity of clarifying ideas, developing and evaluating positions and arguments, and thinking critically about the Big Ideas That Matter, such as right and wrong, free will, God, the good life, knowledge, truth, education, and rationality. Typically involves reference to the leading figures and schools of thought in the history of philosophy. HU

Special Notes

Section E056 is a FastTrack course taught over the first 8 weeks Sep 3-Oct 25; drop date Oct 7. The final exam will be during the eighth week of class. A portion of the learning activities have been moved online and time traditionally spent in the classroom is reduced. Minimal computer skills are strongly recommended. Consent of advisor is required.
